Can Coll (Can Moragues des Racó)

The house's architecture is dictated by its location on a street corner. Its two doorways have semicircular archways, while a huge segmental arch in the entrance leads to an inner courtyard where we find another, smaller arch to the right near the staircase. On the first floor landing there is an interesting neo-Gothic mullioned window.
History
Antoni Moragues y Vallés de Almadrá bought the house from Nicolau de Muntanyans Togores y Zanglada in 1668. It was extended during the 18th century. According the amended electoral roll for 1864, the house was situated on plot number 24 and was owned by Mr. Ignasi Moragues y Comellas, "landowner", and valued at 17,017 Mallorcan pounds (Palma Municipal Archive, 1060). Around the year 1872 the Archduke described the house as the "house of Mr. Moragues", and noted the imposing entrance. The house is currently owned by the Coll Moragues family.
