Introspection is the first institutional exhibition dedicated to the work of German artist Jorinde Voigt on the island of Mallorca. Through a carefully curated selection of works on paper, painting, sculpture, and installation, this exhibition offers a journey through her prolific career, focusing on one of the most powerful ideas in her artistic universe: the visual formalization of perception.

Voigt's pieces will inhabit the different rooms of the main floor of Casal Solleric, transforming each space into a place of contemplation and reflection. In these rooms, one is confronted by the intensity of a work that seeks to translate the artist's inner cosmos and sensorial experiences into precise visual forms, fusing gestures with algorithmic precision.

Jorinde Voigt, whose training in Philosophy, Literature, and Music preceded her foray into art, has dedicated her career to unraveling the mechanisms of human perception. Since its inception, her work has interrogated the reality of the present, exploring how experiences are woven through the interaction between the body and the systems that structure our perception. In this process, imagination becomes the tool that connects inner experience with the external structures that shape it.

The exhibition proposes a journey that does not follow a chronological line, but rather invites an erratic wandering through Voigt's creative universe, where the connections between the works allow the viewer a deeper and more intuitive understanding of her language. Introspection, understood as the process of observing and reflecting on our own thoughts and emotions, stands here as a conceptual umbrella that invites a conscious immersion in her work.

For Voigt, time and space are dimensions that are constantly being redefined. She explores the visible and the invisible through a dynamic and fluid space, where light and color are the essential perceptual vehicles. Each work invites a continuous process of reinterpretation and transformation, in which the visitor not only observes, but is also involved in an exchange of shared perceptions. Throughout her career, Voigt has experimented with drawing, first as a response to the limits of photography and later as a method of visual writing that allows her to capture thoughts and impressions anytime, anywhere. Voigt has been described as a warm conceptualist, as her pieces explore not only abstractions but also the tactile and emotional sensations of matter. Her work is deeply influenced by the theories of phenomenology, a philosophical movement that explores human experience from a subjective perspective.

Voigt's works invite deep reflection on our perception of the world and our connection to it, both individually and collectively. By addressing the nature of archetypal images, the dynamics of shared memory, and humanity's fundamental desires, Voigt offers a space to question the way we interpret reality and how that interpretation is informed by interaction with others and the environment.

In addition to several scholarships and award nominations such as the Zurich Art Prize in 2021, Voigt was awarded the prestigious Daniel & Florence Guerlain Contemporary Drawing Prize in 2012. She has participated in biennials around the world, including the 54th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia (2011), Venice, Italy; Manifiesta 11, Zurich, Switzerland (2016); Biennale de Lyon, Lyon, France (2017); Sharjah Biennial, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (2017); and Vienna Biennial for Change, Vienna, Austria (2019).
